The first set was lost when the mage drowned, face down in a fen, spell half-finished, the mud too thick to remember the rest. Weeks later, the dice came up with the roots. Clouded over. Shifted. A little too warm to the touch.
Nobody saw how they got like this.
Yellowed like old bone, scattered with drifting flakes of something once-bright—shimmering just enough to look alive. They roll fine, but you’ll swear they move slower when you're not watching. Like the weight isn't just material, like the water in them remembers.
And they smell. Not bad. Just... earthy.
Wet wood. Hollow stone. Something that was buried for too long and decided it liked it better down there.
