Grimlight Shards
Set of 7 D4 Resin Dice that look black from some angles, but reveal a rose tint at others.
“Where there is light, grief reigns beneath the shadows.”
Grimlight Shards are an absolute rarity. Forming only in moments of profound magical collapse, when a spellcaster dies mid-channel, faltering in resolve during the final moments of great sacrifice, actively binding their soul into twisted physical form. The spell could be a protection for a loved one, a desperate resurrection, or a last strike against a hated enemy. But the result is always the same.
The spell fails, the Weave scars, and the Shadow Weave remembers. That memory takes form as a single shard, grown from the splinters of abandoned intent. A monument to failure, grief, and whatever unspoken truth died with them.
Physically, the shard is obsidian-dark when held still. Light drinks itself on the surface, creating a dull void in your palm. But tilt it even slightly, and a hidden spectrum bleeds through. Deep rose and muted crimson bloom across its facets like bruises under skin. At certain angles, it glints with specks of untainted weave, the last purity of sacrifice, like starlight distorted through tears. The color isn’t just cosmetic. It is a final response to emotion, proximity to death, and even latent regret.
Legends say that the shard is not inert. Those who attune to it often find themselves visited by echoes, not just of the caster who created it, but of their own memories, recontextualized and twisted into unfamiliar guilt.
The shard offers power, yes, but it is not a silent passenger. It wants you to remember. Even if you’ve spent your whole life trying not to.
Please keep in mind:
These are handmade dice. There will be minor flaws usually on the lowest side as part of the moulding process. This is true of almost all dice that do not come from a factory assembly line. These take many hours to make over several days as I always aim to make them as high quality as possible. I do my absolute best to accurately portray the condition of my dice within the photos and videos shown.
